Students modelling hairstyles inspired by Hollywood glamour and Disney themes were the stars of an event to highlight and launch a new partnership between New City College and award-winning hair stylist Lee Stafford.
The show, organised by and featured Level 3 Hair and Beauty students from New City College Redbridge, who impressed proud families, friends and staff with their creative imagination and talents as they graced the red carpet and cat walked down the stage in the College's contemporary Box Theatre.
The well-attended show impressed the audience and displayed a range of hairstyles, which followed the themes of Disney characters, Hollywood glamour and Hollywood avant-garde glamour.
As well as providing an entertaining performance, the event raised money for the Little Princess Trust, who is a prestigious charity known for providing free wigs to sick children and young adults, who have lost their hair through cancer treatment or other illnesses.
Award winning hair stylist Lee Stafford, who now works in partnership with the hairdressing team featured as a guest judge on the panel:
"Didn't they do a fantastic job? I am excited to start working with the College and all the students, here's to a fantastic year ahead!"
Janet Smith, Borough Principal commented:
"The students put on a fantastic show, thanks to all staff who have supported students in ensuring the success of this event tonight. We are proud to announce our partnership with Lee Stafford and our Hairdressing and Beauty Department! We are looking forward to this exciting collaboration."
The winner of the category 'Hollywood Avant-Garde Glamour' was Level 3 Hairdressing student Leigh-Ann Dunne, who was over the moon for being chosen a winner by her idol:
'I am ecstatic about winning first place, Cathy didn't give up on me through all of the tears and tantrums! It was worth it, I am Lee Stafford's biggest fan!'
